Mission Darkness Alternative | The Faraday Bag Compared

Looking for a Mission Darkness alternative? Here's an honest side-by-side — real prices and specs, including the parts most comparison pages leave out. Mission Darkness (mosequipment.com), founded 2015 and USA-assembled, came out of the digital-forensics and law-enforcement world and runs a wide catalog from small pouches to full forensic enclosures. We're a smaller, value-focused signal-blocking brand with leather key-fob pouches and SGS-certified fireproof bags.

Price & Material, Side by Side

Fireproof stated? Not stated Yes — SGS-certified
Key fob pouch $15 for a 2-pack (~$7.50 each), ballistic nylon $15.99 single / $29.99 2-pack, genuine leather
Published RF lab cert Yes — MIL-STD-188-125 & IEEE 299-2006 (TitanRF) No RF cert; SGS fireproof only

Where Mission Darkness Wins

  • Cheapest key-fob pouch per unit — their nylon 2-pack works out to about $7.50 each, less than ours.
  • Published RF-attenuation lab cert — if you need a documented shielding standard (professional, forensic, or just peace of mind), they publish one and we don't.
  • Breadth — a much larger catalog including forensic-grade enclosures.

Where We're the Better Fit

  • Lower entry price with a stated fireproof rating — our in-stock fireproof pouch is $17.95 vs their $23, and ours states an SGS fireproof rating theirs doesn't.
  • Leather key-fob pouch — if you'd rather carry leather than ballistic nylon.

The Honest Part: Shielding Certifications

This is the section most "alternative" pages skip. Mission Darkness publishes a named, independent RF-attenuation lab certification for their shielding fabric (MIL-STD-188-125 and IEEE 299-2006 for their TitanRF fabric). We do not currently have a published RF-attenuation lab report for our fabric, and we won't invent one. What we do have is a real, checkable SGS fireproof certification on our core bags — a different test, for heat resistance rather than signal attenuation. If an independently lab-verified dB rating is your deciding factor, that's a genuine point in Mission Darkness's favor today, and we'd rather say so than dodge it.
