Leather Faraday Bag Key Fob - 2 Pack
Two credit-card-size RFID blocking cards for 13.56 MHz contactless cards. Slip one into a wallet next to your tap-to-pay bank cards or transit cards, and its built-in chip and antenna disrupt attempts to read them wirelessly, with no battery or charging. The pack suits anyone with two wallets, or two people sharing one pack.
What It's For
Contactless payment, transit and many hotel or office cards work at 13.56 MHz, the same frequency a skimmer needs. One blocker sits in the same slot or stack as the cards you want covered, so you don't have to sleeve each card. The second goes in another wallet or a passport holder.
Details
- In the box: 2 blocking cards
- Size: 85.6 × 54 mm (3.37 × 2.13 in), standard credit-card size
- Frequency: 13.56 MHz RFID/NFC
- Power: none needed; no battery, switch or app
- Weight: 9 g (0.3 oz) per card
How to Check It Works
Install a free NFC reader app on a phone with NFC. Hold a contactless card against the back of the phone and it should be detected. Now stack the blocker card right next to it and try again: the phone shouldn't read it. That before-and-after is the test.
Honest Notes
- It covers 13.56 MHz contactless cards and passports only. It does nothing for phones, GPS, car key fobs or older 125 kHz access badges.
- It also blocks your own taps. Take the card out of the wallet, or move the blocker, before tapping at a terminal or transit gate.
- Keep it right against the cards it covers; cards in a separate compartment may be out of its reach.
- Chip-insert and swipe payments are unaffected.
