EMP Faraday Bag for Electronics & Documents
RFID Blocking Card – 2 Pack | Dual Wallet Protection
Leather Faraday Bag Key Fob - 2 Pack
A fire-resistant fiberglass Faraday bag sized for tablets, passports and documents, 8.5 × 10.5 in (21.6 × 26.7 cm). Once sealed, its shielding lining blocks phone, key-fob and RFID signals from reaching what's inside, and the fiberglass outer resists flame and splashes. It suits travel, a home document kit or an emergency bag.
What It's For
Use it to take a tablet or phone offline without switching it off, to stop a car key fob from answering a relay device, or to keep a passport, cards, a hard drive and cash together in one fire-resistant sleeve. It is one of the store's own fiberglass bags.
Details
- Size: 8.5 × 10.5 in (21.6 × 26.7 cm)
- Outer: silicone-coated fiberglass, fire-resistant and non-itchy to handle
- Lining: multi-layer metallic shielding fabric
- Closure: Velcro flap with sealed edges
- Build: water-resistant layers and flame-retardant stitching
- Fits: tablets, passports, documents, hard drives, cash, a phone or key fobs
- Carry: lightweight and folds flat
How to Check It Works
Seal your phone inside, close the opening fully and call it from another phone. If it goes straight to voicemail or says the number can't be reached, the bag is blocking. For a key fob, seal it in, stand next to your car and try the door handle; the car shouldn't respond. Repeat the test every few months, since folds and wear can open small gaps over time.
Honest Notes
- Blocking works only while the bag is fully sealed. A flap left partly open lets signals through.
- Fire resistance buys time for the contents; no soft bag makes them immune to a house fire. Treat water resistance as splash protection, not submersion.
- We don't make claims about EMP events, because they can't be tested at home. What you can check is everyday signal blocking, with the tests above.
- It blocks radio signals only. It doesn't remove software already on a device, and a device reconnects as soon as it comes out.

1. What is a Faraday bag and how does it work?
1. What is a Faraday bag and how does it work?
A Faraday bag is a pouch lined with conductive shielding fabric. Sealed shut, it works like a small Faraday cage: radio signals can't get in or out, so a phone, key fob or card inside can't be tracked, pinged, read or relayed.

2. Which signals does the Faraday bag block?
2. Which signals does the Faraday bag block?
While the bag is fully sealed it blocks cellular, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, RFID/NFC and car key-fob signals. It only works closed — an open or half-folded top leaks.

3. Is the Faraday bag fireproof and waterproof?
3. Is the Faraday bag fireproof and waterproof?
These bags have a silicone-coated fiberglass shell that resists flame and heat, and a water-resistant finish that keeps out rain and spills. The fiberglass bag materials passed SGS Prop 65 chemical testing (lead, cadmium, phthalates). Fire resistance buys time — it isn't a guarantee for what's inside. See the test reports (PDF).

5. How can I test if my Faraday bag works?
5. How can I test if my Faraday bag works?
Place your key fob or phone inside the bag, close it fully, and try to unlock your car or call the phone. If it doesn’t work, the bag is effectively blocking signals.

6. Where else can I use a Faraday bag?
6. Where else can I use a Faraday bag?
Travel (passports, cards and phones through airports), home (spare electronics, documents and cash), and the car (a key fob inside can't be relayed). Pick the size by the largest item you'll carry, and leave room at the top for the closure to fold.

7. Do Faraday bags work against EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse)?
7. Do Faraday bags work against EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse)?
A sealed Faraday bag is the same principle used for EMP preparedness: a continuous conductive shell. But no consumer bag can be verified against a real pulse outside a specialised lab, and we won't pretend otherwise. For spare electronics, a sealed bag inside a closed metal container adds margin.

8.Are Faraday bags legal?
8.Are Faraday bags legal?
Yes, Faraday bags are completely legal to own and use in the United States and most countries. They are widely used for personal security, privacy, travel, and business purposes. There are no laws restricting the purchase, sale, or use of Faraday bags for protecting your keys, phones, or other devices.

What Has Actually Been Tested
One PDF, three reports — each covers the sample that was tested, not every product we sell:
- SGS glow-wire test (2020): leather pouch material, no ignition at 500°C over 60 seconds.
- SGS Prop 65 (2021): fiberglass fire-bag materials — lead, cadmium and phthalates all pass.
- Shielding effectiveness (2023): our conductive fabric measured 67–72 dB from 10 MHz to 1.5 GHz at the Beijing Institute of Radio Metrology & Measurement (CASIC 203), GJB 6190-2008. A fabric test, not a sealed-bag test, and it stops below Wi-Fi and most cellular bands.
