Faraday Fabric — Copper-Nickel RFID/RF Shielding Material (DIY)
RFID Blocking Card – 2 Pack | Dual Wallet Protection
Leather Faraday Bag Key Fob - 2 Pack
Copper-nickel conductive fabric for DIY shielding projects, sold in 1, 2 or 3 meter lengths — polyester woven with copper and nickel, 1.1 m wide and 0.09 mm thin. Cut and sew it into pouches, card sleeves, covers or panels: it reduces RF signals such as Wi-Fi, cellular, GPS, RFID and NFC passing through whatever it encloses, and works best as a gap-free enclosure.
Details
- Composition: about 62% polyester, 29% copper, 8% nickel
- Thickness: 0.09 mm (about 0.0035 in)
- Width: 1.1 m (about 43 in)
- Lengths: 1 m, 2 m or 3 m (about 39, 79 or 118 in)
- Surface resistance: ≤ 0.05 Ω/sq (manufacturer-stated)
What It's For
- Lining or making pouches, card sleeves, wallets and passport covers
- Covers for routers, appliances and other electronics
- Curtains and canopies, or lining a box, tent or small room
How to Check It Works
Wrap a phone in two layers, fold the open edges over several times, and call it. If it rings, look for a gap or add a layer. For a cover or curtain, compare RF meter readings from the same spot with and without the fabric in place.
Honest Notes
- Shielding depends on full enclosure. Seams, folds and openings are where signals get through, so overlap edges generously and join panels with conductive tape.
- We don't publish a shielding-effectiveness figure: we have no independent lab report for this fabric.
- Grounding the fabric is optional; RF shielding doesn't depend on it.
